All the actors in this film are deaf.

Twenty-five years ago, in Colombia, a retired evangelist lost pieces of a valuable hinge. John Graham finds himself on an adventure when he is asked by the evangelist to find them for him. After run-ins with a snake ad mobsters, he finally finds the lost pieces. Later using the hinge, John gives an inspiring sermon at a Colombian Deaf church. But one remaining mobster tries to destroy all of John’s progress.

T.S.D. SNOW Classes - Another Year Ends!

Wednesday, May 11th was the last SNOW (Students' Night On Wednesdays) class for this school year. We had an average of 46 students in attendance each week from elementary, middle and high school. We covered all the Old Testament stories from the West Africa Bible Storying Cloth. Next year we plan to focus on all New Testament stories. Each student was presented with their own storying cloth to help them remember the stories they've learned.

W.O.W. Christmas Event

Mary was "emcee"...

Friday night, Dec. 10th, 37 women showed up at KCD for a time of devotion, songs, stories, snacks, fellowship and an ornament exchange.

It was GREAT fun, and we give a huge thanks to Mary Carver for initiating all of this!

Thank you also to the other women on the W.O.W. committee who helped with the entire program! Donna Johannsen told the Christmas story with a perspective of the innkeeper's wife. Mary Ann Miller and Anna Austin shared songs. Mary Carver and Michel Swafford told stories.

Anna shared a beautiful song....

After a time of snacks and socializing, everybody exchanged beautiful ornaments! Hopefully this will become an annual event! :-)

Testimony

We thank Peter Smith for giving his testimony in church on November 14. Peter was born in Korea. He took care of his brother and baby sister. He had no name but X and his brother XX. He doesn't know what their sister's name was or if she had one.

At age 10, Peter and his brother were adopted and came to Illinois. That is where he discovered flushing toilets and automatic doors. But more importantly, he learned about Jesus, believed, and has followed Him.

Peter received his name from his new family: Peter because he is a rock. There is much much more to Peter's testimony. Pray for his sister. Please pray that someday he will be reunited with his younger sister, if not here on earth, then in heaven.

Phil Beam, Jerry "Bucky" Carver, and Barry Wise

On Wednesday, July 28th, Phil, Bucky and Barry are headed for their construction mission trip with Pastor Victor Perez! They'll be working on parts of New Life Deaf Ministry's Happy Hands School making construction improvements during their one-week stay there.

They'll also be bringing down school supplies that some of you have donated - THANK YOU!

Hopefully they'll have time to post pictures on the mission blog: nldmhonduras.blogspot.com.

Please pray for safe travels and good health during their mission!

Parking in the Garage
West of FBC

FBC has parking privileges in the garage free on Sundays.
You may park there at no cost on Wednesdays if you enter after 5:00 PM. If you enter the garage before 5:00 PM on Wednesdays and exit before 7:00 PM, you would be charged from the time you entered until 5:00 PM.

If you enter the garage before 6:00 PM on all other weekdays, you will be charged from the time you enter until 6:00 PM. Please note that the garage attendant leaves at 7:00 PM on all weekdays. You will not be subject to any charges if you exit after 7:00 PM.

For all other times not noted above, FBC will not validate any parking in the garage and you will be required to pay the fees yourself. On Sundays, you may park in any space. On all weekdays (including Wednesdays), you may not park in any space that is marked "Reserved."

Deaf Women of the Word

Our tenth annual Deaf Women of the Word Retreat was a success! 54 women from several states: Texas, Ohio, Kentucky, Virginia, and of course Tennessee came and learned about the Power of the Woman's Word led by Gaynell Seale. Next year's retreat will again be in Pigeon Forge at Norma Dan Motel on March 25-27, 2011. Heather Farmer will be the speaker.

There are still cookbooks available for purchase. They are $10 each. All funds raised from cookbook sales will go toward our Deaf Memorial Fund for future Deaf Missions.
